Beatbox Cover: The Parting Glass

A while ago I had the idea of singing one of my present favourite songs (The Parting Glass) and having David beat box to it. So that's what we did today. It was challenging at first cos the song was sort of really slow but together we managed to create something audible. We plan on recording it and adding some extra instruments with the help of Måns. That way,we will have it in Mp3 format and we could make it sound all cool and professional :P

Dance Club: New Beginnings

Adele and Childish Gambino

Today we tried out about 4 more songs to work on after we have finished video taping our dance medley. One of them proved to be quite difficult - Rolling in the deep by Adele (Jamie XX remix ft Childish Gambino). The beat is REALLY fast paced with several climaxes in it that make it difficult for us to try and actually dance to it without having to take WEEKS to come up with the appropriate moves. This one will require a lot more complicated and hip hop-ish moves . It will be a lot more challenging :D

Another one of our choices was Hydrolics by B5 featuring Bow Wow. This one is a bit easier than the previous one but could be difficult to complete as the beats basically repeat themselves too much and this could lead to us repeating our moves instead of trying new and different moves.

The third choice was Get Busy by Sean Paul. This one was probably easier but it was hard to dance to without any direction of what sort of dance genre we will choose. However,the beat makes it possible to dance to this with the genres that we are familiar with.

The last choice was Swilili by Mampi. This is a Zambian song and will involve quite a lot of hip movement which could be difficult as there's not much of a variety to choose from. But it seems interesting and we wanted to have a choice that was more close to Namibia I guess :P

Hopefully,as soon as we finish the final video,we will pick a song and then begin on our new dance routine :D

Talent Show Try-outs

The try outs last week turned out pretty well but only towards the end. A various amount of talent was shown from singing to catching food in mouths over long distances....if that even makes any sense. I was just glad that it seemed that many people had fun not only auditioning but also watching the auditions. I'm also extremely thankful towards the judges (Yaroslav,Polly,Julien and Mr. Giddens) for being there and keeping the whole 'x-factor' aura going. Mr. Grey was also a great help as he helped me run around forcing people to join :P Overall,the turn out was pretty satisfying. Not everything went the way I expected it to be but it was close enough I guess. Since we had too many contestants on Friday,some more will have to audition this Friday so in the meantime,I will begin to work on a small clip that will summarise all the try outs but I would like to do it after ALL the auditions have been made so that I don't get anything mixed up.
Strangely enough,all the contestants that have participated have gone through :O I'm actually hoping that in the next round,the judges will be much more strict and unafraid to say no.I'm also hoping on being able to provide all the contestants with all the equipment they need. It was entirely my fault when I forgot to plan ahead concerning the microphones and so on. That is hopefully a problem we will not have to face this Friday. Wish me luck :D 

Academic Honesty Video

Mr Gray insisted that we partake in the making of a video that depicts/encourages academic honesty. We are 4 in my group (Ndina,Pablo and Julien) and we decided to make the an EXTREMELY exaggerated tragicomedy about a young boy who cheats once and is then led into a life of what could only be described as hell. :D Tomorrow we show the clippings of the video but we might not be finished in time as we were unable to get all the scenes in. We should be ready by next week...maybe. But until then,I will let your imagination go wild in trying to figure out the plot. :P

Next: BIS Talent Show

I planned this quite a while ago but I have only managed to put it up on my blog the day before the try outs (due to my forgetfulness) so here it is. Sorry if the days seem shocking.:P
P.S I was given my own board in dedication to the project and it has been decorated and presented well so far. Pictures will follow soon :)

It has been AGES since I last updated my blog and for that I apologies. I somehow managed to forget my own email address :/
But now I have written everything down to make sure I never forget again.
